Wednesday 2pm section
Deleuze interested me because despite his idea of a new conception of social realities, he can only herald it in with prior modes of signification, through modes of enclosure: he speaks of us moving OUT OF the old era of discipline and IN TO a new area of constant, fluctuating control. Although this is not a fatal contradiction of logic (Deleuze mentions the incomplete demise of the 'old way') it brings into question of how this transformation to societies of control will be completed (if such a thing is ever imaginable), a point further illustrated by Wark's piece which emphasizes constant, unanchored flow, while still retaining the notion of a discreet node or media center.
