Hyperlink

Nelson mentioned about manuscript handling in the section “A File Structure for the Complex. The Changing and the Indeterminate.” He wrote, “Yet to design and evaluate system for writing, we need to know what the process of writing is.” This links me to think of the hyperlink century we live in. For almost all the texts we view online bring us to another page of information through hyperlink. Readers’ attention span reduces and are easily distracted from the linkage. However, writers as readers themselves gain more excess to a wider range of information and ideas through hyperlink. Writers’ original outline might be “distracted” by the inspiration of hyperlink thus end up writing a totally different story. Hyperlink brings the unexpected and gives more to explore.
